5 Ways to Better Self Love

Part of the reason I love My Real Earth is because of the dedication to spread encouragement to #lovewhoyouare. The products aren’t just band-aides that hide scars of self-hate. Instead My Real Earth makes products that nourish your body & help to give you the confidence to truly love yourself.

To take that a step further, I decided to write a blog this week on ways that we can incorporate self-love into our lives. If you’re like me then you probably don’t always like what you see in the mirror. Maybe you have problem spots (like stretch marks) or maybe you just can’t stand the feeling of dry skin. Whatever it is, I want you to know that it’s OK!

Take a stand for yourself. Look in the mirror every day & say “I LOVE YOU!”

  1. Affirmations-an affirmation is a saying that affirms your inner truth. It can be either positive or negative. If your inner truth is affirming to you that you are ‘worthless’ or ‘ugly’ or anything else that is not encouraging you to truly love yourself then that’s your clue to start changing what you are saying to yourself. Here are some of my favorite affirmations for self-love.
I am beautiful inside and out.
I am strong and courageous.
I am worthy of my own love.
  1. Give Yourself 10 minutes- Everyone needs some ‘me’ time. That’s how we reconnect to ourselves and recharge our battery. If your phone was on 10% you would plug it in right? Well, the same goes for you. Plug yourself into yourself so that you can be recharged for whatever is next to come.
  2. Eat Foods that are Good for You- Everyone knows that feeling they get after eating one too many slices of pizza. You get tired, bloated and just uncomfortable. You get nothing done you wanted to & you just don’t feel good about yourself. You don’t have to expect to become a nutrition guru overnight (or at all) so don’t hold yourself to unrealistic expectations. But, you would be amazed at just how much better you feel when you make a healthy choice when you eat. Your body will thank-you.
  3. Be Real-Like I said earlier, beating yourself up for unrealistic expectations is the quickest way to feel disappointed in yourself. Get real about what you can actually accomplish in one day or what you actually want to accomplish in one day. When you are real with yourself what you learn is that just because it wasn’t done today doesn’t mean it won’t ever be done.
  4. Move On-I think we all have had those people in our lives that just suck the happy right out of us. The thing is, not everyone was meant to stay in your life. If someone makes you unhappy, re-evaluate the situation. It may be hard, but sometimes the best thing to do is to not just ditch the toxins from our body care, but also from the relationships in our lives!
