One of my favorite products that My Real Earth offers is the lavender body cream and butter, and for a variety of reasons. It has a great texture, it works, and when my skin is red or puffy or irritated it helps to calm my complexion down. Because this is something that I use often, I have found a couple of interesting ways to use it.
These are my personal top 5 uses for Lavender body cream and butter.
Using some type of moisturizer after you shave is a common practice to soothe the irritated skin from razor burn. I like to use the lavender body butter after I shave my legs because of the soothing properties of the lavender essential oil.
If I have a particularly dry patch of skin I love the texture of body butter over the texture of regular lotion. Because of its whipped texture it has a much gentler feel and doesn’t leave the spot too greasy, but still hydrates. I can put it on during the day without worrying about it leaving an oily spot on my clothes.
I also like to use this body butter on my feet before I go to sleep. Putting essential oils on the bottom of your feet is a well-known practice that allows the oils to absorb faster into your skin so that you can better enjoy their benefits. Since My Real Earth already has the oils added to the butter, using it this way allows me to enjoy the relaxing benefits of lavender as well as give my feet some t.l.c.
If I am planning on giving myself a manicure I like to use lavender body butter as a hand moisturizer, again because its texture allows me to deeply moisturize and then move on with the rest of my day. It also helps to calm the skin from the effects from grooming the cuticles.
With a two year old, sometimes it’s hard to get him to wind down from all the days excitement. We have a regular night-time bath and bed routine that helps us calm down for bed. I use lavender body butter on my son’s skin after his bath in place of typical baby lotion as a non-toxic alternative. Plus, the smell of lavender helps him to fall asleep peacefully.
